Belastinghulp Zaanstad started in 2026 with one goal: simple, personal help with the Dutch tax return for people in Zaanstad who do not want to fight with DigiD online, and just want someone to sit at the kitchen table with them. We are new. And we are honest about that. We prefer an honest start over a foundation of fake social proof.
Why we started
More and more people get stuck on the Dutch tax return. Not because it really has to be that complicated, but because everything is online, the language used by the Belastingdienst (Dutch tax authority) is hard to follow, and DigiD is a real barrier for many seniors and expats. First-time home buyers often do not know they can receive their tax benefit every month through a preliminary tax refund (preliminary teruggave).
We wanted an alternative: not a big accountancy chain with waiting times and unclear hourly rates, but a small local office in the Zaanstad municipality that comes to your home, calmly walks through everything with you, and tells you the price upfront.

Stan van der Hoeven is the founder of Belastinghulp Zaanstad. He started in 2026 from a simple observation: many people in Zaanstad get stuck on their tax return. Not because the rules are too hard, but because everything runs through DigiD and online forms, and because the language of the Dutch tax office rarely helps.
Stan visits you at home, takes his time, and explains in plain words what happens and why. He works mostly with pensioners, people on AOW, and homeowners in Zaandam, Koog aan de Zaan, Wormerveer, Krommenie, Assendelft, Westzaan, Zaandijk, Oostzaan and Wormerland.
He writes and updates the articles on this site himself, with the amounts and thresholds of the current tax year. If something is wrong or missing, tell him.
